Gressholmen Kro is a well-established, busy summer restaurant on a beautiful island in the Oslofjord, 11 mins by ferry from Aker Brygge open May-Sept. During the daytime, the Kro serves sandwiches, coffee and ice cream, and runs a small boutique with organic drinks and products. Later in the day, the restaurant serves classic Kro food (shrimps, mussels) as well as salads, vegetarian/vegan food, and daily specials. The Kro has also been a popular destination for weddings, company events, confirmations and concerts.

Job Description, Duties, Requirements:

As a Restaurant Manager, you will oversee and manage all aspects of daily restaurant operations, ensuring high standards of service, cleanliness, and efficiency. You will create and implement standard operating procedures to optimize workflow and enhance the overall guest experience. 


  • Oversee the daily operations of the restaurant, ensuring smooth and efficient service.

  • Aid in all financial budgeting operations to maximize profitability

  • Working effectively and efficiently with the Kitchen Manager and the management team to ensure operation runs smoothly daily and that all revenue opportunities are maximized

  • Lead by example; a hands-on approach and can do attitude

  • Strong communication skills in English (and Norwegian preferred)



  • Proven experience as a Restaurant Manager or in a similar role. 

  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills. 

  • Knowledge of Norwegian food and beverage regulations. 

  • Familiarity with POS systems and other restaurant management software

  • A passion for delivering exceptional customer service and creating a positive dining experience
